Brian’s sister Paige sent us this photo of herself and Bryan at a University of Georgia football game, and answered our five Faces of Fragile X questions:
Q: What would you like others to know aboutBryan?
I want others to know that Bryan has interests and needs similar to everyone else. We like to tease each other, go to sporting events, and go swimming.
Q: What is your favorite thing about Bryan?
My favorite thing is Bryan’s sweet sense of humor!
Q: If you could tell someone who doesn’t know anything about Fragile X one thing, what would it be?
It’s more common than people think!
Q: What is your advice for newly diagnosed families?
I’d say don’t let other people tell you what to expect or how your child will act. Although there are some challenges, the possibilities are endless! I wouldn’t trade my brother for the world.
Q: What do you want your community to know about Fragile X?
I want my community to realize that Bryan may appear shy or uninterested, but that’s just his anxiety showing. He loves friends and being around people (even if it’s on the outskirts).
