The National Fragile X Foundation held its annual Fragile X Advocacy Day, and this year over 140 advocates included family, friends and even self advocates marched onto the steps of Washington to talk to their members of Congress about Fragile X-associated Disorders including, but no limited Fragile X syndrome (FXS), Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome (FXTAS) and Fragile X-associated primary ovarian insufficiency (FXPOI). 2011’s requests regarded the ABLE Act, the TEAM Act package of bills, and funding requests from the National Institutes of Health, the Department of Defense, and the Centers for Disease Controls. The members of 112th Congress were also asked to join the Congressional Fragile X Caucus.

Join us next year for the NFXF Advocacy Day on March 6-7, 2012.
