About the Speakers

Anne Hoffmann, PhD, CCC-SLP
Assistant Professor & Speech-Language Pathologist, Rush University Medical Center

Anne Hoffmann is an associate professor and speech-language pathologist at Rush University Medical Center. Her research examines language and social communication development in individuals with neurodevelopmental disorders, especially Fragile X syndrome. Her teaching and clinical interests focus on pediatric speech and language disorders. Hoffmann completed her doctoral work at the Ohio State University and then completed her post-doctoral position in pediatrics at Rush University.

Jennifer Epstein
Licensed Clinical Psychologist and Health Service Provider, South Shore Psychological Services

Dr. Jennifer Epstein is a licensed clinical psychologist and health service provider with more than 25 years of experience working with children and families. She received her doctorate in clinical psychology from Wright State University, completed an internship at CMHI Fort Logan, and completed a two-year postdoctoral fellowship in developmental disabilities and clinical psychology at the University of Colorado, Denver.

Jeanine Coleman, PhD
Director of the GLOBAL Inclusive Program, Regis University

Jeanine Coleman is the director of the GLOBAL Inclusive Program at Regis University. Jeanine has a masters in early childhood special education and she received her doctorate from the University of Denver in the Child, Family & School Psychology program. Her research interests include families with children with neurodevelopmental disorders, assessment methods for young children, and working with families going through the early intervention and special education processes. Furthermore, Jeanine is working on projects regarding the implementation of interprofessional education to address the needs of children and families with early childhood mental health needs and the expressed emotion of families with children with intellectual disabilities.

Tracy Murnan Stackhouse, MA, OTR
Development FX, Denver

Tracy Murnan Stackhouse is a leading pediatric occupational therapist involved in clinical treatment, research, mentoring, and training regarding OT intervention for persons with neurodevelopmental disorders, especially Fragile X syndrome and autism. Tracy teaches nationally and internationally on sensory integration, autism, and Fragile X. Tracy is a member of the NFXF Clinical Research Consortium, the Scientific & Clinical Advisory Committee, and the NFXF Advisory Council.

Observable Symptoms of Anxiety in Individuals with Fragile X Syndrome: Parent and Caregiver Perspectives

Most individuals with FXS cannot state themselves that they are anxious and self-report is needed in current standardized assessments. The information analyzed in this study will result in the development of a measure where observable and quantifiable data on anxiety in those with FXS can become an outcome measure to be used in future research/trials.
