As you may know, we are developing materials for adults with Fragile X syndrome. One area we receive a lot of questions from parents on is advice for applying for Supplemental Security Income (SSI) for their 18-year-old son or daughter. We know that experiences vary widely from state to state and even within a state or, perhaps, even a Social Security office.
We are looking for 1-2 sentences from parents who have been through the experience. What advice do you have for other parents applying for SSI? What do you wish you would have known when applying for SSI?
By submitting you agree to have your first name and state published in our materials.
