Xtraordinary people in the lives of those with Fragile XEvery year in July, we come together to celebrate National Fragile X Awareness Month. It’s not only an opportunity for us to bond as a community, it’s a time to open ourselves up to the world and share our individual stories.

This year, as part of our awareness efforts, we are sharing about individuals with Fragile X syndrome who are working – paid, volunteer, full-time, part-time, and more. We want to raise awareness of the value of employment of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities for the employee, employer, and their coworkers. So, we want to tell the stories of individuals with Fragile X syndrome and activities they do during the day, on a regular basis. This could be the one hour/week they work at the supermarket or the work they do at their day program or their job tied to their post-secondary education program. It can also be volunteer work. Do they help out regularly somewhere?

Can you share about an Xtraordinary employee?

We want to hear your story. Share a photo or video along with a bit about what they do. Tell us how it brings them joy and how they have touched other’s lives. We will share their stories during July.

We want to inspire others – and your Xtraordinary employee can help!

Take a moment and share. You will make a difference.

Each year, the NFXF and the Fragile X community celebrate all of July as National Fragile X Awareness Month, with the goal of expanding public awareness and educating those who are in a position to help make a difference. Learn about all that we are doing.
