The Fragile X Resource Center of Missouri hosted its 12th Annual Fragile X Mouse Races on Saturday, September 23rd. Nearly 150 guests enjoyed a fast-paced evening of Mouse Races, Mouse Roulette, and bidding on raffle and silent auction items.
The mouse race happens tournament style: six races with six mice per race. The winner of each race competed in the Grand Champion 7th Round. “Sam the Man” was the fastest mouse on the track, won the race, and was crowned the winner. Kentucky Derby, eat your heart out!
A highlight of the evening is always the Heads and Tails game – the prizes this year were a Coach purse donated by the Leahy family and an Apple Watch donated by the Eyermann family. Registration included delicious snacks as well as wine, beer, and soda. Guests also enjoyed the annual slideshow featuring pictures of all of the events the FXRCMO has organized over the past year. As they looked back, the group celebrated its 25th anniversary with a champagne toast honoring our founding members – including Margaret and Marty Israel – and past and present leaders.
Thank you to everyone who donated prizes, some of which included party suite tickets to a St. Louis Blues game, box seats to a St. Louis Cardinal’s game, an Amazon Echo, a hand-crafted wooden jewelry box with an “X” necklace, a money tree, and more.
