    Fragile X LINKS Group of Wisconsin

    On September 3, the Fragile X LINKS Group of Wisconsin gathered with friends and family for their first Walk for Fragile X. The two mile walk took place on the Riverwalk in downtown Milwaukee and included a raffle at the end of the event. A good time was had by all and the group would like to hold a second walk next year.

    NFXF board member Dave Justus and his wife Joy hosted their first annual “Red, White and Blue Labor Day Party” on Sunday, September 4 at the Coto Valley Country Club in Coto De Caza, CA. The event featured live music from the band Vegas U2 along with American BBQ faire.

    The Kansas City LINKS Group

    The second annual Fragile X-pedition took place on September 17, and despite the cool rainy weather there were 64 walkers. There were also a number of other events, including family-friendly games, an auction, and a visit from Santa Claus! The walk was a great success, and the Kansas City LINKS group has already begun planning for its 2012 fundraisers.

    NFXF board member Deborah Kwan hosted the 2nd Annual Hat Party to benefit the NFXF on September 24. The party featured drinks, appetizers, and live music from local band ML Crisis. Attendees once again were able to vote on the tackiest, prettiest, greenest, and most creative hat. A number of NFXF board members were able to attend, and Dr. Liz Berry-Kravis won top hat of the evening with her model of mGluR5 hat!
