Alex is my six-year old grandson. He was diagnosed with Fragile X (fully mutated), and autism, among other things. I have had guardianship of him since he was almost three. When he came to live with me he had a vocabulary of about fifteen barely understandable words. He has been attending a developmental pre-school, and with speech, occupational and physical therapy, and a lot of work at home, he now has a vocabulary of between four and five hundred words!

He LOVES anything to do with Toy Story and the ocean. Not a day goes by that his infectious smile does not brighten someone’s day! He will be starting kindergarten in the fall (EEK)! He is my inspiration. Whenever I am having a bad day, I step back and look at what all he has overcome and look at my life in perspective.

I LOVE YOU MY LITTLE MAN!
