Fragile X of Minnesota had a great turn out on Saturday, August 20th for their annual picnic. Mother Nature didn’t plan for an outdoor event in Lakeside Park, but the Johnson family opened their restaurant, Bayport BBQ, to our Fragile X family without us even asking. Chris and Kristen Johnson of Bayport BBQ showed such hospitality and reminded us how gracious people are and how some people are just plain kind to all. Kristen called us on her way to work to offer us their party room because it was going to be so wet. We were surprised and thankful for the offer. They have a party room that they let us use for free and had a beautiful BBQ buffet set up that we dined on. The BBQ was so delicious that everyone had more than one plate.New families attended and some that had been away for a while were there too. It was a great time for all!
