Marwa Zafarullah was a 2017 Randi J. Hagerman Summer Scholars Research Awards recipient. At the time, she was a graduate student in Integrative Genetics and Genomics at the University of California Davis. She worked with Dr. Flora Tassone at the Mind Institute and investigated the underlying molecular mechanism contributing to the pathogenesis of FXTAS.
