As part of our work to serve all Fragile X-related conditions, we are organizing a consortium of doctors and other specialists with expertise in Fragile X-associated primary ovarian insufficiency (FXPOI).
This would be in addition to our Fragile X Syndrome and FXTAS clinic finders.
To do that, we are asking the Fragile X community to share any specialists who have helped them with FXPOI and might be interested in learning more about the consortium.
Specialists may include those in obstetrics, gynecology, endocrinology, and reproductive endocrinology.
FXPOI is a condition in which the ovaries are not functioning at full capacity in an individual with the FMR1 premutation. It can cause infertility, early menopause, and other ovarian issues. FXPOI occurs in about 20% of women with the FMR1 premutation.
