What makes Nerilde Xtraordinary to you?
You cannot find a more caring and loving grandmother. She retired early to help care for her three grandchildren, who have a full mutation of FX. She spends most of her time helping our family give our child all of the experiences of living a normal life. From camping trips to a day at the beach or attending festivals. Grandma is there for it all! She takes the time to spend one-on-one with each of them and also gives mom and dad a little break and time for themselves. The joy on her face every time she sees something new that they learned or when she teaches them something is incredible.

- Her grandchildren learned how to enjoy the simple things in life from her.
- She has taught them to literally stop and smell the roses because now we stop to smell flowers wherever we are.
How has the NFXF helped you or Nerilde?
We both attended the NFXF conference, where we learned so much, being newly diagnosed. Having the opportunity to go and meet other families while we were still very new to it all was the best experience.
