Parents Night Out — Arlington Heights, Ill.
The NFXF Greater Chicago Chapter organized a night out at a local restaurant on September 9, 2023. Attendees enjoyed delicious food, shared experiences, and discussed challenges and strategies. Chapter leader Dawn Brown shared, “It was very nice, and it was the best turnout we have had!”

Greater Chicago X Strides Walk — Glenview, Ill.
The NFXF Greater Chicago Chapter participated in NFXF’s X Strides in July. They organized an event for members of the Fragile X community to come together on July 22, 2023. The 40 attendees casually walked a 1.5-mile loop at Gallery Park and then enjoyed the playground and splash pad. Everyone loved the delicious snacks and drinks, and a morning filled with connection and conversation!

Missy Zolecki
Missy joined NFXF team in 2018 after being an active volunteer since 2010. Missy organized several fundraisers and educational workshops while serving in her volunteer role. Missy is the mother of three children. Her eldest son, Matt, lives with Fragile X syndrome. Prior to joining the NFXF team, Missy had worked as a nurse for more than 20 years. She enjoys traveling and spending time with family and friends.
