Michael Leener

What makes Michael Xtraordinary to you?

We want to nominate our son, Michael Leener for an Xtraordinary person. He is a volunteer at Adventist Rehabilitation Hospital in Gaithersburg, Md. and an inspiration for other recovering patients. Michael has Fragile X and worked at Bethesda Naval Hospital (Walter Reed) for 24 years until he suffered a spinal stroke and was paralyzed from his waist down. He now lives with his roommate in an apartment supervised by Jewish Foundation for Group Homes. Michael volunteers where he learned how to walk again‼️
