Conference Presentation

Encouraging Early Communication: Strategies for Caregivers

01 h 10 m

This presentation focuses on tools that caregivers can use to encourage communication development for individuals at early stages of development. In particular, evidence-based caregiver-responsivity techniques can be implemented within already existing family routines.

About the Webinar

Caregivers will learn how to:

  • Recognize communication that is already occurring.
  • Expand on current communication attempts.
  • Encourage additional communication opportunities.
  • Build positive and reciprocal interactions.

Consideration of the Fragile X phenotype is incorporated with suggestions about how to capitalize on the strengths found within this population.

There is also a more recent presentation on this topic, also by Anne Hoffman, from the NFXF 19th Fragile X Conference.
