On July 12, 2000, the United States Senate designated July 22 as National Fragile X Awareness Day, which makes this year — Wednesday, July 22, 2020 — the 20th Fragile X Awareness Day.
Each year, the NFXF and the Fragile X community work together to expand public awareness of Fragile X, including Fragile X syndrome, Fragile X-associated tremor/ataxia syndrome, and Fragile X-associated primary ovarian insufficiency, and educate those who are in a position to help make a difference: doctors and all medical professionals, therapists, geneticists, teachers, researchers, federal and state policymakers, and so many more.
