We’re excited to know that Mission to Lars is finally coming to the United States on September 25, 2015!

The documentary starring Tom Spicer, a young man living with Fragile X syndrome, was screened at our very own 13th International Fragile X Conference in Miami, Florida. Audiences were delighted to follow Tom’s journey, along with his sister Kate, from his home in the United Kingdom to meet Metallica’s Lars Ulrich in person. In the documentary, they fly to the US and drive across the country in hopes of meeting Tom’s idol, and even meeting our founder Dr. Randi Hagerman along the way!

After its debut, many members of our community asked us how they could watch or purchase this brilliant, heartfelt movie, but at the time the movie was only screening and sold in the UK. Now we have an official release date in the US!

Local Screenings

Staring, September 25, Mission to Lars will be screened for a week at Cinema Village in New York City and Roxie Theater in San Francisco. We hope you’ll attend if you’re in the area – especially on opening night!

While there are no other theater screenings currently scheduled, we encourage you to contact your local to organize and generate interest at your theater to have an official screening.

Digital Release

If you’re not in New York, you can still watch by purchasing online on iTunes. It is already available for pre-order and will be released on September 25 simultaneously with the theater screening.

Update: An additional screening was announced for Roxie Theater in San Francisco and has been added to our screening list.
