National Call-In Day in Support of the ABLE Act , Wednesday April 25, 2012

The National Fragile X Foundation is co-hosting National Achieving a Better Life Experience (ABLE) Act Call-In Day on Wednesday, April 25, along with Autism Speaks, National Down Syndrome Society, Muscular Dystrophy Association, NDSC, and several other disability organizations. The purpose of this call-in day is to encourage advocates across the country to call Congressional offices that have not signed onto the ABLE Act and ask for their support.

The link above includes more information about the ABLE Act, the phone numbers of your Members of Congress and a simple call script.

Please make your calls today: Wednesday, April 25, 2012.

Not much is likely to get done in this Congress before the election in November but with a good strong push the ABLE Act just might pass.

The ABLE Act would allow 529-like tax deferred savings plans for all individuals with disabilities and their families without compromising entitlement to medicaid, SSI or any other asset tested benefits.

Thank you,
Jeffrey Cohen
Director of Government Affairs
