You are invited to participate in a research study on Fragile X carrier screening.

This study examines women’s experiences with Fragile X carrier screening in the United States. The purpose of our research is to determine how women are being offered carrier screening for Fragile X, when they are offered screening and which healthcare professionals are responsible for returning their results. The study entails interviews with women who have undergone Fragile X carrier screening in the last six months.

Who can participate?

We are seeking women who have received abnormal Fragile X carrier screening results (intermediate, premutation, full mutation) in 2016. Participants will receive a $40 Amazon gift card for their time.

What will you be asked to do?

Participation entails a minimal amount of time and effort. If you are eligible to participate, you will be interviewed by phone at a time that is convenient for you. Interviews last approximately 45 minutes to one hour and that will conclude your participation. If you are interested in participating or would like to learn more about our study, please contact our research coordinator, Margaret Waltz, at fragilex.med@mcgill.ca or 919-883-4252.
