UPDATE: Just as we were about to publish this article, we were pleased to learn that NFXF Board Member Dave Justus and his wife Joy will match another $10K in Let ‘Em Know 5K donations this month! That brings our total matching challenge to $40,000. With your help, we’ll reach that goal!

So lace up those running shoes, pull on that T-shirt and get going! And be sure to let your network know that every dollar that contribute to support your efforts will be matched and you don’t even have to run or walk another step further!

Top individual so far—Bill Sroka

We are excited to share with you that the NFXF Let 'Em Know 5K event is off to great start. To date, nearly 300 individuals and more than 100 teams have registered to do a run or walk! We are well on our way to making our goal and are now racing for the finish! And with July 22 fast approaching, we are expecting to see many more photos of happy runners and walkers. Please remember to share them on all your social media sites with the #NFXFLetEmKnow5K!

We’d also like to introduce you to our top individual fundraiser so far—Bill Sroka of Dublin, California. Bill enthusiastically embraced the 5K virtual event because he wants to help make a difference for everyone, including himself, who is impacted by Fragile X. He has thus far raised almost $1,800 from friends and fans. Way to go Bill! Bill just completed a 5 mile walk for Fragile X this past week – exceeding both his fundraising and distance goals. Congratulations, Bill!

New Jersey

Top team so far—Fragile X Association of New Jersey

Our top team so far is the ! Not only did they get many group members to register, but they recently organized an actual, scheduled run/walk on a gorgeous summer day along the New Jersey boardwalk. The team has raised over $6,000 from nearly 120 supporters. Great job, New Jersey!!!

Remember, we have prizes for the top fundraisers (2014 International FX Conference registration and two hotel nights), and it’s not too late to Let ‘Em Know!

July Is All About Awareness

Fragile X Awareness happens one person, one run or walk, one chat with a teacher or family doctor, one email to a congressional representative at a time… One outreach and commitment after another to Let ‘Em Know! All of it by individuals like you who want to make a difference. Thank you for your efforts!
