Acamprosate, a drug used to treat alcohol abuse, improves communication and social behaviors associated with a common form of autism. IU autism researcher Craig Erickson, MD, will discuss his ongoing study of acamprosate and Fragile X syndrome, the most frequent, single genetic cause of autism.

Dr. Erickson is assistant professor of psychiatry at IUSM and clinical director of the Riley Hospital for Children Christian Sarkine Autism Treatment Center.
