The National Fragile X Foundation , founded in 1984, provides emotional, informational and referral support, promotes awareness in the general public and medical professional communities, organizes international conferences, publishes and distributes educational materials, funds clinical and basic science research and conducts legislative advocacy in Washington, DC.
